Potato Vada, also known as Batata Vada, is a popular Indian snack, especially in Maharashtra. It consists of a spicy mashed potato filling that is coated in a gram flour (besan) batter and deep-fried to golden perfection. The potato filling is typically seasoned with mustard seeds, curry leaves, turmeric, green chilies, and coriander, giving it a flavorful and aromatic profile. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, Potato Vada is often served hot with chutneys or sandwiched in a pav (bread roll) to make the famous Mumbai street food, Vada Pav. It’s a comforting and delicious snack that’s perfect for any time of day.
Weight of each piece is nearly 70 grams
