Mohanthal

Mohanthal is a traditional Gujarati sweet that is rich, dense, and flavorful. Made primarily from besan (gram flour), ghee, and sugar, Mohanthal has a grainy texture that is achieved by roasting the besan in ghee until it turns a golden-brown color. The mixture is then sweetened with sugar and often flavored with cardamom and saffron, giving it a fragrant aroma and a beautiful color. Once the mixture is cooked, it is spread out in a tray, allowed to set, and then cut into squares or diamond shapes. Mohanthal is often garnished with chopped nuts like almonds and pistachios, making it a delightful treat during festivals and celebrations.
